Gold Fields South Deep is recruiting an Underground Electrician to join a dynamic and engaged engineering team. The role focuses on repairing, replacing, and upgrading electrical components and maintaining records for winder and electrical equipment installations. The position supports both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to ensure safe and optimal Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). South Deep values personal contribution, development, and teamwork while upholding the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety of self and team members by applying relevant standards and procedures in all planning and execution of maintenance activities
• Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, and Company standards
• Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation, health, safety, environmental, security policies, and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion
• Ensuring that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance is conducted timeously and effectively
• Conduct repairing, maintenance and construction of MCC’s, substations, crushers, conveyors and general maintenance in and around the Shaft

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Relevant Trade Certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an underground electrician
